Jackson Marines continue to meet and support our community, fellow Veterans while remaining focus on all Covid-19 safety guidelines.

In light of this concern our Detachment invited John Roth, President of RECALIBRATE (a Veteran peer to peer support group) John is also a Brother Marine and Jackson Twp. Police Officer. John gave a brief overview of what’s going on with this major concern and how his organization his addressing the problem.

In addition to this our National Commandant of the MCL has issued a challenge to all Marine Corps League members to do 22 push ups a day for 22 days to bring awareness of the Veteran suicide problem.

There were NO Detachment meetings during the months of April, May and June due to the Covid-19 lock down.  We attempted one ZOOM meeting which proved we need more practice.  The first meeting in July was attended by the MCL Department of New Jersey Commandant Joe DeAngelo along with Department Adjutant Marine Barbara DeAngelo.  Marine DeAngelo spoke briefly on her running for the post of Department Jr. Vice Commandant.  Our August Detachment meeting had a few more members in attendance (hope to see more as the Covid-19 restrictions are lifted) – during this meeting in attendance was MCL Department of New Jersey Jr. Vice Commandant Michael Waluk who also spoke about his running again for the position of Jr. Vice Commandant.  The Detachment wishes both Marines Waluk and DeAngelo the best of luck at the Department Mimi Convention scheduled October 4, 2020.

During this August Detachment meeting we had the great honor of celebrating our “Senior” member Marine Anthony DiSiena’s 95th BIRTHDAY – the Detachment salutes you and wishes “Tony” a HAPPY BIRTHDAY and MANY – MANY MORE.
